Music as Migration, Music as Sacred: Interview with Gerard Edery
Gerard Edery, born in Casablanca and raised in Paris and New York City, is the essence of a global musician. Composer and performer, he sings in numerous languages, and his focus is on Sephardic music – the music that traveled with the Jews across the globe after their flight from Spain. Here he talks about what links his music and listeners. He recently performed at Chicago’s World Music Festival.
